United Arab Emirates Visa for Pakistan Citizens: The Definitive 2026 Guide

Pakistani citizens need a visa before they travel to the UAE. Here is how a UAE sponsor arranges a tourist visa, which documents and conditions the authorities list, and what it costs.

    A visa is required

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Pakistan as "Visa Required" on its visa exemptions page, so Pakistani citizens need a visa before they travel.

This guide covers the single-entry tourist visa, which a UAE tourism sponsor (an airline, travel agent or hotel) arranges for you.

    Core Requirements for Pakistan Applicants

Dubai's immigration authority (GDRFA) describes the single-entry tourist visa as a single visit of 30 or 60 days, with a tourism establishment as the sponsor. These are the documents and conditions on its page:

    Passport
A copy of your passport. The GDRFA terms require the passport to be valid for at least six months.
    Personal Photograph
One personal photo. Ask your sponsor for the format it needs.
    National Identity Card
Dubai's GDRFA lists an identity card from your country of origin for Pakistani nationals. The federal ICP page does not name Pakistan, so confirm with your sponsor which authority handles your application and whether it needs your identity card.
    Medical Insurance and Onward Ticket
The GDRFA terms list medical insurance valid in the UAE and a ticket to continue your journey or to leave the UAE.
    Fees and Timing
The Dubai GDRFA lists AED 200 for a 30-day visa or AED 300 for a 60-day visa, plus 5% VAT, with an expected completion time of 48 hours. The total can vary.
    Your Sponsor
The UAE Government portal says UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas. A UAE-based airline, a licensed travel agent or a hotel applies on your behalf, and each has conditions of its own, so ask yours what it needs.

    How the Application Process Works

The UAE Government portal and the immigration authorities publish how a tourist visa is arranged. These are the points that decide how you apply:

    What the UAE authorities say:
The UAE Government portal lists the federal ICP, Dubai's GDRFA, airlines, licensed travel agents and hotels as the routes for a tourist visa
Airlines set their own conditions, and one of them is that you fly with that airline
Travel agents and hotels can arrange a visa provided you buy your ticket through them and keep a reservation at the specific hotel
The Dubai GDRFA says only accredited tourism offices in the emirate can issue a single-entry tourist visa

    Practical Tips

    • • Check that your sponsor is genuine before you pay or send copies of your documents. The UAE Government portal says your UAE embassy can help verify an agent.
    • • Ask your sponsor which authority will issue the visa and whether any extra step applies to Pakistani passport holders.
    • • The single-entry checklist lists no bank statement or minimum balance, so ask your sponsor what proof of funds, if any, it needs. The UAE Government portal lists a bank balance of USD 4,000 or equivalent over the last six months for the multiple-entry 5-year tourist visa, which is a different product.
    • • Keep your approval, your onward ticket and your medical insurance proof with you when you travel.

    Next Steps

Check your documents against the requirements before you pay a sponsor. TravelReady's Smart Visa Checklist shows what your application needs, so you can fix gaps before you submit.

Does your case trigger the Pakistan → United Arab Emirates risk patterns?

Knowing the failure modes is not the same as knowing whether they apply to your documents. Officer's Read cross-references your specific employment letter, bank statement, and cover letter against current United Arab Emirates embassy rules, the way an officer would, and flags what would be questioned before you submit.

What we check that this guide can't:

    • →Whether your funds and sponsor documentation are clear and consistent with each other
    • →Whether your entry-visa application is consistent enough across documents to avoid a rejection
    • →Whether a recent large deposit has a documented source

Requirements and processing can change at short notice, so confirm them with your sponsor before you pay.
