Visa refused? Understand exactly why, before you reapply.
A refusal letter rarely explains itself in plain terms. Upload yours and we decode the exact reasons that were cited — so your next application fixes the real problem instead of repeating it.

Decode your refusal reason
Paste the reason your letter cited (or pick the closest one) and see, in plain language, the category it falls under.
The matching runs in your browser — your pasted text is not uploaded.
Categories map to the legal grounds officers actually cite — EU Visa Code Annex VI, US INA §214(b), UK Appendix V, Canada IRPR §179.
First understand the decision. Then fix it.
Decoding your refusal is free. Strengthening the application so it clears next time is where TravelReady earns its keep.
Understand why
Upload the letter. We identify each cited reason and translate it into plain language — what it means, and which part of your application it points to.
Fix it before you reapply
Officer’s Read reviews your whole application the way an officer does, flags the contradictions and gaps that trigger refusals, and shows exactly what to strengthen.
The reasons behind most visa refusals
Almost every refusal maps to one of these. The analysis tells you which ones apply to you, in the words the officer used.
Purpose of trip not justified
The officer was not satisfied your purpose or the conditions of your stay were credible and well evidenced.
Schengen · UK · Canada
Source of funds not established
Your money may be sufficient, but its origin or reliability could not be verified from the documents provided.
Schengen · UK
Insufficient funds
Your evidenced means of subsistence fell short of what the post expects for your trip length and destination.
Schengen · US public charge
Weak ties / intention to leave
You did not demonstrate strong enough ties to your home country to overcome the presumption that you might not return.
US 214(b) · Canada 179(b) · Schengen
Travel insurance invalid
Required travel medical insurance was missing, expired, or did not meet the minimum coverage rules.
Schengen
Document or credibility issue
A document was treated as false, inconsistent, or misrepresented. This is the most serious category and needs careful handling before any re-application.

What to do after a refusal
Reapplying with the same file gets the same answer. Here is the order that actually changes the outcome.
Many appeals and reviews run on strict deadlines — check yours before the clock runs.
Understand it (free)
Upload your refusal letter. We decode every cited reason into plain language and tell you exactly what the officer flagged — no jargon.
Fix the real weakness
Officer’s Read reviews your full application the way a consular officer would and shows precisely what to strengthen — the part a blind re-application gets wrong.
Reapply with the gap closed
Go back in with the cited reason addressed and your documents consistent, instead of resubmitting the same file that was already refused.
Refusal questions, answered
Is the refusal letter analysis free?
Yes. With a free account you can upload your refusal letter and TravelReady decodes the cited reasons into plain language at no cost. Strengthening the underlying application before you reapply is handled by the paid Embassy-Ready Kit and Officer’s Read.
Can I reapply immediately after a visa refusal?
In most systems there is no mandatory waiting period — you can reapply as soon as you are able to address the reason you were refused. Reapplying with the same application that was already refused usually produces the same result, so the priority is understanding and fixing the specific cited reason first.
What does a US 214(b) refusal mean?
Section 214(b) of the US Immigration and Nationality Act presumes every nonimmigrant visa applicant intends to immigrate until they demonstrate strong ties to their home country. A 214(b) refusal means the officer was not satisfied those ties were shown. It is not a permanent bar; you may reapply when your circumstances or evidence change.
Will a past refusal hurt my future visa applications?
A previous refusal is not a permanent ban, but most application forms ask whether you have ever been refused a visa, and you must answer honestly. Addressing the original reason — and disclosing the prior refusal correctly — matters far more than the refusal itself.
Which refusal letters can TravelReady analyze?
The analysis covers Schengen, UK, US, Canada and many other refusal letters. It reads the cited reasons — purpose of trip, source and sufficiency of funds, ties to your home country, travel insurance, document issues and more — and explains what each one means for you.
Can TravelReady guarantee my visa will be approved?
No. No service can guarantee a visa — the decision rests solely with the consular officer. What TravelReady does is help you understand the refusal and present a stronger, internally consistent application that addresses the cited reasons before you submit.
